Oh, this book! It ripped my heart to shreds in the most elegant way imaginable. It was hauntingly beautiful and will stay with me for a long time.

It tells of Bea and her being sent to live in America with a family during WWII. It is told from several POVs, and while I thought that it would get muddied, having that many POVs, the author pulled it off brilliantly. You got to know each character in a way that they became family.
It is told over twenty plus years, and it felt rushed at times. There were things that could have been left out, and at times it felt like something was missing from the story.
Everything flowed and the characters are well written. It makes you think and makes you question.
You see the struggles with each character, the flaws. It made them real.

Would I recommend? Yes! Thank you to Celadon books and Bookish First for allowing me to read and review. This review is entirely my own.
