Brief Summary: Beatrix is sent to live in America at the start of WWII where she connects and bonds with her new American family. Five years later she is summoned back to England and has to discover how/where she fits and belongs.
My Review: I truly enjoyed this book. It did take me a while to get through, but that has more to do with being a new puppy parent than the book being anything less than fantastic. I did appreciate the bite size chapter break up (because of aforementioned puppy) it made it easy to pick up and put down as I needed to. The imagery was lovely and a truly got to feel the gambit of emotions, heartbreak, love, loss and the bonds of family and friends. The relationships between characters was really where this book shone. The author did such a good job of making the characters feel real and making their relationships feel real. I would certainly recommend this book 100%
