This isn't normally a topic or genre I would read, but the sample is so well-written and the POVs are arranged to draw you in. I found myself invested in them all, wondering how it all turned out. How we got from the young girl sent across the sea and falling in love with her host family to the melancholy young woman who doesn't seem to feel much anymore.
