Unique Lens to View the Unspoken Horrors of War

I was really intrigued by the concept of this book. This effect of war is so rarely spoken or written about. I enjoyed getting to know Beatrix's character but was especially drawn in by her parents' narratives. I can't imagine what it must have felt like to decide that sending your child across an ocean without you was the safest choice for them. Looking forward to reading the rest of this book.
