Historical fiction novels, especially those set in war-times, ESPECIALLY those set during World War II, can be hit and miss for me. I really have to love the characters we're following, and understand their motivations. From this excerpt I can tell this will be a solid read. I probably won't pick it up, because there are other books, even historical fictions, that draw my attention more than this one, but I hope those who win enjoy this story.
