As I started reading this preview I thought the book might be too dry for my taste. It was actually really engaging so far and an interesting story. The writing is more straightforward than I expected. Sometimes with historical fiction the story may be good but the writing can be too dense. This seemed more modern but looks like it is an interesting story.
