I liked the writing and descriptive nature, but the richy-rich character profiles didn't call out to me. Historical fiction usually doesn't work for me, so this one may call right out to that desired audience, but the characters just weren't reeling me in this first look. I wouldn't read more to find out what happens next. The title and cover art are stunning. I'm sure once the book has time to find its feet it gets really good, I just don't think it's the right book for me.
