The synopsis and the cover drew me in. The main character, Beatrix, seems interesting and I look forward to reading her coming-of-age story. I cannot imagine how it would feel to be sent across the sea to live and grow up in an unfamiliar country with an unfamiliar family. I look forward to watching Beatrice grow to love the family who took her in.
I love the cover of this book. To me, it shows a woman who feels that no matter what side of the sea she is on, she is always looking across longing for the life lived on the opposite side.
