book seems very serious, but in a good way

The cover of this book gives me the impression that this is a pretty serious book. I think sometimes I shy away from serious books because I don't know how intense they will be or how it will flow.

After reading the excerpt, it made me want to read more. The book jumps right into what's going on while creating a setting.
