The opening chapters of Beyond That The Sea weave a beautifully melancholy mood, from Beatrix looking back 20 years later to the initial reluctance and uncertainty of her time in the United States. I wasn't expecting to see as many different points of view as were shown, but I enjoyed that, I liked seeing the same situation from several different angles and each character giving their own unique take.
