This is a different take on a WWII novel, which I appreciate. The opening being told from a variety of characters wasn’t bad, but did feel a bit stiff and rushed. I am hoping as the story unfolds, it really digs into Bea’s mind and the way she herself changes, rather than changing to fit into her surroundings.

This does seem like a good book for fans of historical fiction, longing, and romance.
