historical fiction books are typically hit or miss for me. at first, i wasn't too sure. the cover, while possessing a pleasing font and colors, is very cut and paste Historical-Novel-About-A-Woman-Probably-During-A-World-War-Or-Something and doesn't really stand out from its contemporaries. however, once i began reading the inside of the book my opinions quickly began to change. i really enjoyed the writing style, and so far the book is beautifully written, a really enjoyable read. i connected with the characters right away, and was disappointed when i got to the end of the excerpt. these are all great signs that this book will be a hit for me!
