WOW! I had no idea Henry Wrinkler was an accomplished writer! And not just his memoirs, either! I saw in the front of the book that he's written several other books, too. Having watched him for years as a kid as the Fonz, he always came across as a womanizing guy who focused on being cool. His career started out rocky, but he really is a very talented individual who is very driven to be a successful actor! Very interesting to find out that The Fonz was EXACTLY the opposite of who Henry Wrinkler viewed himself to be. Henry was NOT confident like the Fonz. I think a part of that came from the fact that he was dislexic and could not read. Never really realized he improvised along the way many times.
I also didn't realize Henry was an accomplished comedian either. He used comedy to deflect attention away from himself often times. Interesting to find out that Henry also had a tough upbringing. I read it to be that his parents practiced tough love alot. They were not well off by any means, so they didn't necessary have school of hard knox to be mean - it was more out of necessity. Very different thoughts from the lovable tough guy we all grew up with - known as the Fonz! Great beginning to the book. I'd buy this one for sure to read!
