Henry Winkler seems to be a very down to Earth, humble and grateful person and tells his life story in a conversational, relational manner, making this an easy, enjoyable read. . Having been in high school when "Happy Days" premiered, I was eager to read his book and learn the back story of what was considered appointment TV in the 1970's. This book could as easily been named "Becoming Henry" as he struggled and worked hard to overcome a learning disability, insecuritiy, self doubt and poor self image. Much of this brought on by a rigid upbringing with little if any affection by his Jewish parents, who escaped Nazi Germany to immigrate to the United States. He goes on to become an Emmy winning actor with a long career, a 40 plus year marriage with a wonderful wife, family, and now grandchildren. He continues to show gratitude for all he has by giving back to others with his time and talents to different charities and even helps young kids see that they aren't struggling alone through his "Hank Zipzer" book series.
