I found this to be a humorous, engaging, down-to-earth memoir of an important cultural figure in the US. The voice and tone seemed to be like that of an oral history—I bet the audiobook is amazing! I felt like we were sitting around drinking coffee and listening to his amazing stories—all in his honest, open voice. And SO engrossing! I didn’t want it to stop! It was a page-turner, and from the start I was invested in his success. He has experienced trauma, crippling self-doubt and anxiety, and only recently has started to chip away at the hard shell surrounding and protecting his true self--and thank goodness he has, because this book is a result.
We already know the highlights, but if you want the real story behind the man, actor, and icon, look no further. Human, broken, and talented, this man is amazing and I loved getting to read this work.
