I became familiar with who Henry Winkler was after watching him on Barry. I really enjoyed that show, so I was interested to learn more about his life. I had previously heard of Happy Days, but I had never watched an episode. It is interesting to think about playing a character that causes you to become typecasted. It sounds like The Fonz was a very memorable character for a lot of people. After reading this book, I had to look up old clips online. I don’t think I was the target audience for this memoir, but I still really enjoyed it. Winkler is a very interesting person.
Learning about Winkler’s dyslexia was surprising. I’m impressed by his ability to overcome such a difficult obstacle. I also hadn’t known about his children books. I look forward to reading them to my son.
