I grew up watching Happy Days and was very amused by the character, the Fonz, played by Henry Winkler. I also admire Henry Winkler's advocacy related to dyslexia and his ability to achieve success as someone with the disability. For these reasons, I was interested in reading his memoir. I greatly enjoyed it. It is a charming and heart-warming read. He tells about his struggles with stardom and gives insight into how his role as the Fonz influenced his lifelong career as an actor. He also describes relationships with his parents and his wife and children. Throughout the book he also interweaves the impact dyslexia had on his career and life and how it led him to write a series for children based on his childhood. From his writing and stories I got the sense that Henry is a just a genuinely nice person. I also appreciated the message of gratitude that he expresses in the book, as well.
