Thank you BookishFirst for my ARC of Being Henry: The Fonz and Beyond!

As a fan of Happy Days, as an actor, and as someone who loves reading the stories of other actors and their journey's, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Henry Winkler's memoir. And boy, I was happy I was able to. What a delightful, heartwarming and funny book.

I loved you could really hear Winkler's voice in all the writing as if he just spoke and the book was formed. His kindness and love of acting was conveyed through each and every word. I did thoroughly enjoy all the behind the scene stories of Happy Days as well as his other various projects, including the occasional tea he spilled about some co-workers in Hollywood.

As an actor, it was fascinating and educating (sometimes daunting) to read his journey from being one of the most popular characters on TV to not getting work for some time leading to his Emmy win for Barry while being a dyslexic actor. Winkler goes into details about the audition process through the ages and how often shows and movies can be made to just be scraped just as quickly. His stories were relatable to my life but also brought so much awareness that Hollywood and the business hasn't changed much over the years.

A lovely touch to the book is when his wife, Stacey, drops in and tells her side of a story. I thought that was such a beautiful tactic to show other sides to Henry.

I highly recommend this lovely quick read if you need something light and fun.
