Henry Winkler is iconic, and his work means a great deal to me. Waiting anxiously for the next Happy Days episode to air was very much a part of my childhood. I remember when Happy Days and Mash became competing shows, on the same night, it was devastating. During that time I had to choose one, we didn’t own a VCR. Winkler’s portrayal of the Fonz, his relationship with Ritchie and the Cunningham family, was not just impactful to me, but to an entire generation, and his work continues to bring meaning to many generations.
