First, the cover of the book is beautiful in its simplicity. It is very eye-catching. I feel as though I have seen this book all over social media and BookTok, which isn't a bad thing. So, the cover caught my attention and made me want to check it out. I wasn't disappointed by the except even though this isn't my normal genre of reading.
Because this is an excerpt it doesn't delve deeply into the story and you don't get to see full character development. I did like the characters so far and look forward to reading the book to see more of what is going to happen with them. In terms of the plot, I really, really like it. The concept was quite interesting and I definitely can't wait to read more. The author so far has decent pacing.
