The book opens immediately with atmosphere. I felt transplanted into this different time and place except, I’ve been here before at this drive-in with Ponyboy and Johnny and Dally. The narrator feels very familiar and like a close friend. I can’t wait to read the rest and find out more about the girls and Houston in this time period.
