I prefer non-fiction and "Bad City" did not disappoint me. With journalistic hard work, the book exposes the "under belly" collusion of "acclaimed" California institutions. The details gave the reader a view into the process a Pulitzer Prize journalist uses in following the many parts of an exhaustive investigation - even when it involved his newspaper. His and his fellow reporters were so resilient and perseverant in their pursuing the story, even to the point of putting their careers in jeopardy. I wonder how many journalists would go to such lengths. I hope most would.

It was intriguing and enlightening. I would like to think that news media would always be so relentless in reporting.

Certainly a worthwhile read, I did feel that the ending went beyond the purpose of the book into other stories not closely related.

I look forward to another book.
