The audacity. Stories like this make me sad, disgusted, and simultaneously grateful for those who are relentless in ensuring that they are told and exposed. It appalls me that people can be so abusive of the power they are entrusted with and yet, maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised anymore.
Pringle won a Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting and some of the evidence is within these pages. He does a fantastic job weaving together timelines and painting a picture of the reach of the corruption and head turning that allowed Puliafito to remain in his position as dean for as long as he did. If the stories don't interest you or you are a USC Trojan fan to the core, this might not be the read for you. However, if you love an intensely detailed non-fiction read that spans years, then this is certainly the next book for you to dive into.
