Like reading nonfiction thrillers
Enjoy novels about corruption and betrayal

Meet the Author: Paul Pringle is an investigative reporter at the Los Angeles Times. Pringle has won numerous awards: Pulitzer Prize for breaking news, Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting, and Pulitzer Prize for public service just to name a few. He has written a total of 4 books.
Synopsis: Bad City is a behind-the-scenes look at Pringle’s investigation into Puliafito and the consequent exposure of corruption at USC, the Pasadena Police Department, and the Los Angeles Times. Pringle made reports regarding the case following an overdose incident but his superiors at the times refused to publish the story because they didn’t want to offend USC. After much persistence the Times finally published the report, long after Puliafito resigned as dean.

What I Liked: The number of scandals, corruption, and cover ups revealed in this book is horrendous. Reading from the perspective of an investigative journalist makes this read that much more interesting, allowing the amount of detail to really tell the reader the story. I thoroughly enjoyed Pringle’s persistence for justice.
