It’s not that I don’t like true crime—I’ll happily read one that strikes interest in me, but I usually tread carefully. The news is already bad enough in the small snippets on media websites. To read an entire book devoted to the true stories of bad people is sometimes too much. And while Bad City is written well, I just don’t have it in me at this moment to read any more about this disgusting doctor. It’s something that I’d want to read Wikipedia style—what he did, skipping over to the part that he’s now in prison. Not hundreds of pages worth.
