This story set in Yosemite tells of 4 friends who decide to hike Yosemite. When one friend drops out, a girl joins the 3 guys. The original trail they decide on cannot be taken as there is a fire close by, so they decide on another more dangerous trail. Their first bad call is not to register their hiking plans and from that point on it seems like each time a decision has to be made, the wrong one is chosen.
They get caught in a snow storm, have a near bear encounter and have bad luck with a cheap tent. Then the story takes a dark turn when one of the guys goes missing. It seems like one of the group has his own agenda.
I would have given this book 5 stars, but for me it lacked the suspense I was hoping for.
