Prologue Seems Promising

I really liked the style of writing and found it a very quick and easy read. The prologue contained a lot of suspense and then the story shifted to a very informal, conversational tone.

(Spoilers in this paragraph):
I really liked the synopsis and prologue. However, the story quickly shifts to a very different, daily life focus that confused me a bit. These students apparently live in a world where a coach doesn't care about a tournament enough to go or find out the results but does care enough to presumably send a team, students care enough to join a team but not enough to compete, a professional can be easily bribed, and these student slackers are apparently good at forgery, hacking, and have a friend with seemingly limitless funds? I found all of the information from just the first few chapters highly implausible, but that's not to say that it might not still make for a fun, interesting read.
