The author is superb at showing the action and providing information through dialogue. In these few pages, the three characters have already become distinct and interesting. I love how they play off each other in such an irritating manner, as college boys do. That Graeme bought all the donuts in Ceo's hated flavor made me laugh out loud. Colin's memory of Ceo stating that he would forever avoid Vermont because of the maple trees cemented his hatred of maple, which made me think that he covered his face to smother the scent. I like that the narrator is the straightforward guy who has the most to lose. The writing is tight and flows well. The dialogue is credible for 20-something guys. Funny is a bonus.
