Bad Call is a well named survival novel about four teenagers on an ill-fated camping trip to Yosemite National Park. Classmates and tennis teammates Colin, Ceo, and Grahame, along with Ceo's friend Ellie, go on what is supposed to be an epic trip. Things start to fall apart almost immediately, but Ceo is determined to push forward. When unforeseen factors threaten their lives, will all of them make it back to safety?

I am not usually a fan of multiple perspective stories, but it works well in this case. The change in voice from character to character helps to build the story, especially considering the mystery that is involved. Survival stories always have a lot of suspense, but this one takes it to a new level. My favorite character is Colin, whose team player mentality and overall good nature makes him endearing. The plot is well developed, although there are a couple of plot points that are a little unrealistic. Readers who like YA survival and mystery fiction will enjoy Bad Call, as it has a good story with realistic situations faced by the characters.
