Good concept, bad execution...

Out of all the raffles I’d entered recently, I was most looking forward to this book. The concept of a survival story mixed with a thriller/mystery aspect is one of my favorite styles of literature. The very beginning made me want to keep reading to find out who the two characters in the prologue were. For me, what kept this book from succeeding or being “un-put-downable” was the annoying characters. Grahame and his stupid Jamaican accent schtick was pointless and irritating. I think the fact that the characters were high schoolers made me like them even less. It just wasn’t relatable and I stopped caring about what happened to them. I also didn’t like the back and forth of characters between chapters. I’m sorry that I didn’t have more good things to say, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea!
