Tennis teammates Colin, Ceo and Grahame head off into the woods on a camping trip in Yosemite National Park. Joining the group is Ellie, a new friend of Ceo's who is unknown to the rest of the group, to fill in when their friend Rhody unexpectedly backs out at the last minute. Once they arrive at their destination, everything that can go wrong does. A forest fire that prevents them from going to their planned camping spot, bad weather on the way, low cell phone batteries and reception, signs of a bear. And why does Grahame need an axe? Worst of all, the tension among the four is increasing to a boiling point as the hours tick by. When one of the guys goes missing, the other three must figure out what happened and who they can trust to help them get back to safety.

This was a great story and got off to such a quick start. The characters were interesting and the story drew the reader in quickly. The premise is great and the tension begins to build right from the first page. Why are these guys going out in the woods together if they have so many issues? Do they actually even like each other? You really start to root for some characters and wonder why in the world they're out here with the others. The timeline jumps back and forth from the present to the past, as the backstory of Ceo and Colin gradually unfolds. I really enjoyed Ellie's character in particular. At first, I thought she'd be a piece of arm candy brought along for the ride. But she was tough and fierce and handled herself well. I would definitely recommend this book.
