I read the synopsis and thought "thriller" - a genre I really enjoy. About half way in I changed my mind; not about the thriller genre but about the book's theme. This is basically a story about three teen boys competing for a teen girl's attention and the predictable consequences.
The pretty-boy rich kid, Ceo, is the self appointed leader of a hiking expedition. Along for the journey is Grahame who is Ceo's bud and tennis rival at a boys fancy prep school. Athletic scholarship student Colin is trying to hold on as second seed in their trio and maintain a friendship with Ceo. Ellie is the only female on the trip and she has to simultaneously fend off two of the guys while bonding with the third. Bad weather, bad attitudes and bad luck put the hikers into dangerous situations. The conclusion of the story was sudden and without any surprises. It's okay but nothing special.
