I didn't realize this was YA until I started reading the excerpt, the cover looked more like an adult novel. That being said, I enjoyed the excerpt, the hints of tested friendship and competing male egos, with some suspense and survivalism tossed in. Clearly some class/socioeconomic tension between the characters as well, I would read this to see how the relationships play out.
