While the prologue in the first couple pages set this book up as an enticing mystery, the rest of the excerpt was less engaging as it only focused on three overprivileged teens giving the slip to their elite school to go on a wilderness trip. The book as a whole seems like it should be a pretty tense and intriguing wilderness mystery, but this excerpt, to this reader, just didn't get off to a raring start.
