If you are the type of person who enjoys locked-room mysteries, survival stories and creepy psychological thrillers, the first few chapters of this book will probably hook you as fast as they did me. The cover was the first to draw me in, along with the title, the creepy bloody shadow cast by the tree and with the title "Bad Call" put me immediately in mind of those old choose your own adventure books, where I'd always make the wrong choice and end up down a ravine, or eaten by a giant python. I'm eager to find out what exactly happens to the kids on this doomed hiking trip, and how that axe in the trunk will come into the picture (probably blade first!).
