This mystery is set in Sicily,where Auntie Poldi a 60 year old widow from Munich has moved to drink herself comfortably to death. She is quite the character and fancies herself an amateur detective after finding the body of her missing handy man. I was 70 pages in before we even got to finding the body. It felt a little slow in that respect.
This is a translated book and it’s tge first to be translated in the U.S. I felt the translation was done well. I didn’t ever feel that I was missing anything or confused, which has happened before with translation. This was a enjoyable book, it was a bit slow and could have used a little tighter editing for my taste. This would be a good airplane or beach read.
