The main mystery of the story, Poldi trying to solve Valentino's murder is very drawn out and never very interesting. When she finds the clues it seems overly farfetched and a bit too convenient of a find. For example, she goes into his bedroom and gets drawn in by some sea glass that he had collected. Later on she finds some sea glass and knows he had been in that location. On top of that, Poldi herself is not very likable. She treats her nephew terribly, insulting his personality and his writing abilities. Her other trademark behavior is being an alcoholic. It's at odd with how half the time she's being made out to be this down to earth, namaste-ing being. Either way she is not a character that I was routing for.

The only reason I give this story 2 stars is for Sicily itself. The author did a great job describing the island locations as well as how the people behave there. I'm sure if I ever visit Sicily, I'll be able to remember some of the locations named in this book. I also enjoy when books teach me words of foreign languages, which this did.

Now I hope to never Namaste Poldi again. Ciao.
