I thought this would be a good book for me to read since Auntie Poldi is 60 which is close to my age. But from the beginning, she was a little too "wild" for me. I found myself rereading pages and trying to understand what was actually going on in the story. I ended up skipping pages, but I didn't make it to the end of the book. I do understand that the book was translated from German into English, so there may have been some issues in the translation because the more I read, the more confused I became. Also, there were so many names and place that I couldn't pronounce and just gave up on trying to pronounce them.
I do thank Bookishfirst for the ARC paperback copy of the book, "Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions." And just because I didn't care for this type of book doesn't mean that there isn't an audience for it. My copy will not go to waste. I'll find someone that I think would like the book and share it with them.
