Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions by Mario Giodano was a fun, although slow, mystery. This story follows Aunt Poldi who moves to Sicily with the plan to drink herself to death. When she finds a dead body she goes into investigation mode.
The back and forth narration was a little too much for me and I sometimes had to reread portions to make sure I was still following along. I think I would have enjoyed this book more if it was told only from Aunt Poldi’s point of view. I really liked Poldi's character being the over the top, eccentric aunt. The investigation seemed to drag for me, but I still wanted to read about Aunt Poldi’s adventure.
Overall I liked this book, but if you are looking for a fast paced mystery, this isn’t it.
