I could very easily fall in love with this book. I'm particularly fond of oddball characters and Aunt Poldy certainly has enough quirks to make her an interesting and unforgettable character. To be perfectly honest I'm Sicilian and very interested in stories of my fathers homeland. I'm also attracted to stories about women who are survivors and Aunt Poldy certainly is. Aunt Poldy has had her share of tragedies compounded by depression which in itself is debilitating. A change of scenery and a new purpose in life may just be what she needs
In the excerpt I read I can definitely see the comparisons to A Man Called Ove, my favorite book of all time (and I mean all time). Both ove and Aunt Poldy struggle with loss and trying to find their place in the world. I absolutely positively love Ove and I'm sure I'll love Aunt Poldy too
