The dialogue between Eldon , his friends and his family feels true to life. The reader is drawn into his world. From time to time Eldon will ask those who have had their wishes granted how they coped and were they happy. Some of the stories are surprising but all seem plausible. The conclusion to Eldon's story caught me by surprise, but it was ultimately satisfying as one of the thoughts that comes from wishing is the awareness of others and a better understanding of the consequences of one's actions.
