What would I wish for?
As I read this book I wondered what I would wish for on my eighteenth birthday and I honestly wasn't sure what I would have chosen. The idea of a town centered around the theme of a wishing well is ingenious. There were so many topics the author was able to explore by looking at people's wishes.
For a YA book I found this to really dig into some in-depth topics such as suicide, death, blame, appearances, and money.
Eldon, the main character is not perfect, a jock or an amazing guy. His life is tough, he messes up, he is more mature then his parents some times. I think this is something many teens will relate to, honestly. Crap happens in life, and sometimes it's nice to have a character that you can relate to through all of it.
I found the main character and others to be well developed and believable. I will recommend this to others.
