I felt apathetic about having won this book in one of the first raffles, however I am glad I was able to give it another chance.
I really enjoyed the chapters giving us an inside look into the different towns peoples wishes and their outcomes. These chapters really helped solidify the theme of the book. If you could wish for anything in the world, what would it be? But most importantly, would you be happy with the way your wish turned out?
I felt Eldon's character started out very well written, but he regressed at an alarming rate in the second half of the book. The resolution of the book was very satisfying. I was glad to see the family get closure over their struggles, and the maturity that Eldon showed in wanting to stay to help his neighbors was refreshing, especially after such a rough time in his character.
All in all a well written and enjoyable story.
