If you were able to wish for only one thing, anything at all, what would it be? As wild and wonderful as such an ability may sound to some, in a town where one wish (but only one) is guaranteed from birth, it has the power to create unimaginable doubt and anxiety. I am slowly being re-introduced to the world of Young Adult fiction, and “As You Wish” leaves me hopeful. Tinged with mystery and suspicion, the book is certainly a page turner that constantly leaves the reader wondering what is next. It takes the idea that the things that we may want most could change our lives for better or worse, and adds an almost fantastical twist. I could easily see this narrative played out on the big screen.
