This book is about a town that on your 18th birthday, you are granted a wish. This idea is so fascinating to me. People living in the town get to wish for anything they want. However as Rumplestiltskin always says, "All magic comes with a price." In what I read, this seems to be true. There seem to be consequences that are permanent. It seems that because of this, the main character struggles with what he wants his wish to be.
From what I read, I'm not a huge fan of the main character. He rubbed off as a jerk to me. I like how the writing is descriptive but not overly descriptive. I also like how the writing is in a day to day format, giving us that countdown to the day Eldon makes his wish.
