The beginning few chapters are great teasers. I'm thinking this book will be so much fun to read that I go full out until the end, smiling the whole time.
The characters are falling into place with a Sunday instruction time with the school principal and three to-be wishers and one who has already wished.
That means some wishes are not as wished and some wishes backfire on the wisher.
Easy to read, this story seems like it could be Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn talking and walking around town and into the woods.
The characters are quite colorful and demand attention from the reader--the opening page says it all: this is not as it seems, this is all phony but don't ask and you won't get hurt.
