I was drawn to the cover first - I know the adage, but I often DO judge whether to open a book by its cover, even if that isn't the ultimate arbiter of anything more than my willingness to give a look... Once I opened the document, I was confirmed in my impression - the book is interesting and seems well crafted; it drew me in from the first line (another gauge of a book worth reading, to my mind). I was immediately drawn in to the story and the town and curious to see what would happen next. The writing is clever and I laughed out loud/smiled to myself no less than three times in the first chapter alone. I definitely plan to look for this title upon release - and to watch the author from now on!
