I'm a big fan of magical realism and the wish-granting town is a unique and creative take in the genre that I haven't seen before. There's this aura of mystery and challenge in the story that brings life to the small town setting. Main character Eldon leads with suspicion and an evasive personality that fits well as a member of this special community. We also see a little bit of a bite to him, where he's not afraid to ruffle a few feathers. It should keep things interesting.
