This is my first impression of the first chapter.

I don’t think I’m the only one who wants to read this because we’re suddenly going through a pandemic ourselves. It’s interesting that one hundred years ago people living during the Spanish Influenza were experiencing many of the same scenarios we are today. The first chapter of this book is really well written, and I’m interested to see what happens next. I’m curious if more information about Henry will be given, and how her husband inheriting a mortuary business at the beginning of the Spanish Influenza will affect the main character and her family. That cover is also beautiful. If I get a free book through Bookish First I’ll probably choose this one.
