Touching
This book takes place during the Spanish flu pandemic. Given the current state of our world, this is a very interesting read. While it is a fiction story, there are a lot of references to what life was like during this time.
The book follows the daughters of a person who is taking over a funeral home from a family member. It is set in Philadelphia, which I heard was one of the towns hit the hardest during this pandemic.
The author did a great job making you feel like you are in the funeral home experiencing it from the girls point of view. I liked the way it transitioned between the different points of view and how the ages of the girls made a difference in how they viewed what was going on around them.
I originally read this book before our current pandemic, but it stuck with me. I would love to go back and read it again after living through a pandemic.
